Open Lecture – The Work of the Conservators.

Thilo Bürgel is the senior conservator at East Fortune the preserved WWII airfield housing Scotland’s national aviation museum. During his 20years at the museum Thilo has seen the collection expand to become one of the most important in the UK. He will give an insight to the work of aviation conservators describing tasks to maintain the early collection through major expansions including acquiring Scotland’s Concorde G-BOAA. Here is a chance to explore the history of aviation and find out about objects that are not normally on display. Thilo speaks regularly at international conferences on his subject, aircraft heritage and restoration.
