Membership
u3a membership is not related to a specific age but to a period in one’s life (the third age), which follows the second age of full-time employment and parental responsibility. Anyone in their third age can join u3a and this includes people who are working part-time. There is no lower age limit for membership.

Joining the East Lothian u3a
You can join the u3a at any time though the membership year runs from 1st May to 31st April. Membership costs £20/year. However, membership is discounted to £10 when joining between 1st January and 30th April.
To join, please complete a Membership Application form. A printable membership application form is available here: Membership application form (PDF). The same form is available as a Word file: Membership application form (Word)
Please complete, sign and send the form (by email or post) to the Membership Secretary (details on form). The appropriate fee should be paid into our bank as explained on the form. The membership Secretary will then send you your membership number and access to member’s area of the u3a web site.
Groups
The membership fee covers participation in any number of u3a Groups. Group members may be asked to pay for any materials such as photocopying and, perhaps, a small charge for tea/coffee, etc.
