From the high politics to the individual experiences, the story of the campaign will be brought to life, setting its significance within the context of both the 17th Century and our own times.

Arran Johnston was born and raised in Derbyshire, where he discovered an interest in the Jacobites which would eventually lead him to Scotland. He graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2007, completing his PhD at the University of the West of Scotland in 2018.
Arran is the founding director of the Scottish Battlefields Trust and the author of a number of books exploring Scottish history. He lives in East Lothian with his wife and children.
